Neonatal Warming Bag
Description:
Babies born prematurely or with a low-birth weight are at risk for hypothermia. Polyethylene occlusive wrapping is used in many developed world hospitals due to its ability to retain heat.
Instructions:
This bag is for very small babies and can be made larger by increasing the number of all knit rows (between rows 14-30) and increasing the number of rows in the face opening space (between rows 38-48).
Cast on 6 stitches on #11 (8mm) double-pointed needles, put 2 stitches on each needle, join in the round
1 Knit into the front, then the back, then the front of each stitch [18 sts]
2 Knit all
3 (KFB, K1, KFB) repeat to end [30 sts]
4 Knit all
5 (K1, KFB, K1, KFB, K1) repeat to end [42 sts]
6 Knit all
7 (K2, KFB, K1, KFB, K2) repeat to end [54 sts]
